I think our travels are so busy I can't even keep up with myself, less Karla and our kids!!! 😊

Below are details. Your prayers for protection and treasured, but especially that we would hear God's voice and be sensitive to His Spirit are coveted!

Karla flew out 6 June to Canada for two weeks to spend with her father, brothers, and cousins. She just started a 10-day, 5,000 mile road trip with her Dad Ron. They will visit some of his friends and family in Michigan, the Dakotas, Montana and Washington State. Her Dad still does not believe in God, so special prayers for conversations in words and actions during this time our coveted. The seeds are there. May the Spirit cause growth! She will then pivot briefly into Mexico to provide nursing assistance as our home church in El Paso does one of its mission trips to Creel Mexico. This will be just before she flies out to Iraq on the 10th of July, aiming to spend a few days with our son Daniel who is based in Dallas working for American Airlines.

Eric left El Paso 7 June to spend time with his widowed mother Gayle. His trip to New York State isn't as busy as Karla's. However, it does feature many complex travel transfers that could open up unexpected new opportunities to share Good News with people should there be travel delays. (Think: Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch, Acts 8) He will have some precious visits to the church of his youth, and celebrate his Mom's 85th Birthday before he sets out to Iraq on June 18th. His desire is to get back to help continue to disciple those staying in the Iraq house, and to begin actioning many of the key administrative requirements as we extend our SU Iraq base for another year.

Plus, by returning early, Eric gets to spend time catching up with our daughter Elisabeth, husband Derek and the five grandchildren there in Erbil Iraq! They will be leaving in July to tour and visit many churches here in the US (God is making this trip possible through someone who donated airplane tickets for the entire tribe to travel). Derek has been to Pakistan this month, engaging many of the people that Eric and Karla will engage in August. And when Derek got back from Pakistan, God opened doors for Elisabeth to go with a team to Japan (for context, we were stationed in Japan 3 years and Elisabeth was able to continue her Japanese language studies when she came to El Paso for her final years of high school. So she is actually very conversant in Japanese, although needing to learn to reuse it, since it has been roughly ten years since last language contact) So lots to catch up on! 😊

Finally, be in prayer for Karla and my relationship. We are approaching 35 years of marriage in December, but this doesn't make us immune to problems and pressures. In fact, I am discovering that whereas when we got married, Karla and I seemed so alike, I am now aware of many keen differences in thought, sensitivities, observations and insights into physical, emotional and spiritual dimensions. If we were a body, Karla in many ways is a "right foot", always on the go with beautiful energy and insights into what to do today. And if Karla is a foot, I might be a "right hand", with some similarities, yet also differences that focus on strategic operational and issues of the heart. When we allow God to use us independently and united, it is a beautiful thing. Yet other times, it can be frustrating due to our differences. Love is patient, kind, and gentle, and we both need this more with each other, especially when tired, stressed and stretched. Your prayers for our joint agreement in crucial issues, with flexibility and allowing each other to move in God's Spirit with the individual gifts we have, united under Christ, are treasured.

Oh: and our son Josiah would love your prayers as he is attempting to deeply action many of the creative ways to share the Gospel through Pop Culture that God has given him. He is working on establishing a digital store front that people can buy his custom designed products, as well as plant strategic messages that contain eternal messages.

Lastly, be praying for our daughter Alisha who is in the Denver area, and engaged with a wedding date of 21 August 2025 planned. Karla and I will be spending time in the Colorado Rockies in September after our summer trips to Iraq and Pakistan are completed.
